Treated water from the tap we overlook
Never realizing how lucky we are today
That we don’t have to walk miles away
To fetch a bucket of water from a brook.
Our ancestors weren’t that lucky
To have water that was treated
Theirs was filtered but untreated
And still had to be drunk murky.
The next time you use a water hose
To water your plants, lawn or flowers
Think of those who rely on rain showers
And not water running through a hose.
