Life seems to be kind to women
In comparison with men
And society is even kinder
When a baby is born
The mother gets all the praises
As if the father did nothing
As boys grow up to become men
A natural hormone, testosterone
Inclines them to be reckless
Putting them at higher risk than girls
This hormone, a steroid hormone
Known to trigger sexual desires
Could turn some men into rapists
And cause them to be incarcerated
Nature regulates women’s sex drive
And even adds menopause as they age
They’re better able to manage sex hunger
But Nature has no such mechanism for men
Hence their hunger for sex 365 days
When a man marries a woman
It’s she who gets all the attention,
The adoration, and even the gifts
If a wife argues with her man
ninety-nine percent of the time,
She’s a liberated woman
If a husband argues with his wife
fifty-one percent of the time,
He’s domineering and authoritative
When a woman strikes her husband
It’s a case of self-defense
If he dares to hit back, it’s assault
He would land in jail, often with a fine
If a wife declines to have sex
For weaks, or even months
She’s exercising her right of freedom
If the man does the same thing
He’s accused of having another woman
If a wife forgets her man’s birthday
It’s an oversight, no big deal
If the husband forgets her birthday
He no longer cares about her
If a 30-year-old unmarried woman
Is dating a 60-plus wealthy man
They’re said to be in love
When a 30-year-old bachelor
Finds love with a 40-plus rich woman
He’s only after her money
When couples have to separate
The law gives the mother the edge
As regards custody of their children
As couples live past their prime
The brains of men, proven by science,
Deteriorate faster than women’s brains
It comes as no surprise then
That baldness is more a man’s bane
And scarsely a problem for women
The mortality rate among the aged
Shows a pattern of more deaths
Of husbands as compared to wives
Such is life – too kind to women.
