By J E SOLOMON
In the temple of silence –
The only true home
I would sit in silence and embrace the all of it
Sit as comfortably as I can
With my eyeballs shielded from the outside world
By the protective blinds of my eyelids
And I would turn off the channel of wandering thoughts
Leaving only the righteous thought
In the temple of silence –
The only true home
I would surrender to the spirit divine
Not by sheer will, but by His grace
To be subdued by the power of the silence
And become like a balloon in the air
As spirit in me begins to dance
To express its true nature
Of freedom and harmony, of peace and joy
In the temple of silence –
The only true home
I would be gone from this mundane life
Welcomed into a realm of luminous beauty
Where neither the past nor future exists
And all there is, is the moment
A moment devoid of worry and anxiety
One of joy and deep sense of gratitude
For a life so glorious and gratifying
And for the experience in the temple of silence
A place I could frequently be
If only I’m prepared and willing to be
To enjoy the feeling of true detachment
From anything worldly and material
From desires and attachment
A world where pain and suffering have no place,
Where fear and desperation dare to thread
And all around are full of cheer and smiles
Filling my thoughts with divine inspiration
Opening wide my eyes of wisdom
To clear the dark clouds of ignorance
Into which earthly life has entrapped me
