I wonder how some people think
Someone invited me to his home
And without saying ‘you’re welcome’
Or asking me what I’ll like to drink
As we do culturally as Africans
Like Nigerians and Moroccans
Even after becoming Americans
This dude just started a conversation
On a subject so drab like civilization
And when I expressed my indignation
He told me I was very rude…
That, what I did wasn’t good
I almost punched that dude
Now, look at this other guy
He thinks I’m a little boy
He tried to hook me up with his honey
So she could come steal my money
I wasn’t born yesterday
You can’t trick me in this way
Others have tried and failed
One of them was nearly jailed
